Yummmmmmm… You just have to try these. No shop bought brownie can come close the the flavour and gooeyness of these delectable little morsels!
5oz Plain Choc
3.5oz Plain Flour
5oz Icing Sugar
1oz Cocoa Powder
3.5oz Butter (marg is also fine IMO)
2 tbsp Golden Syrup
2 Eggs – beaten
1.5tsp Vanilla Essence
1.5oz Roasted Chopped Hazelnuts (I omitted this and they still taste fab)
Preheat to Gas 4/180/fan 160. Grease & line the base of a 10″ square baking tin.
Melt choc in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.
Sift the flour, sugar & cocoa into another bowl.
Pop the butter & syrup into the choccy mix and stir till smooth, allow to cool slightly.
Stir eggs & vanilla essence into choccy mixture.
Mix everything together, inc the nuts. Stir quickly till smooth.
Pour into baking tin & bake for 35-40 mins till the top and edges are crusty and the insides are goooooooooey.
Let cool slightly in the tin, cut into 9 and hide from everyone else in the house.
